685 farmer suicides in eight months in Marathwada, highest in Beed district; Government measures are decisive

In Marathwada, there is a picture of a non-stop farmer suicide season. Therefore, there is a question mark on the measures taken by the government to stop farmer suicides. Between January and August 2023, 685 farmers have committed suicide in all the eight districts of Marathwada.

Most farmer suicides have occurred in Beed district, followed by Dharashiv, Nanded, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Parbhani, Jalna, Latur, Hingoli districts.
Out of these suicide farmers, 475 suicide cases of farmer villages are eligible for direct 613 assistance from the government, while 97 cases are ineligible on 4. On the other hand, 113 farmer suicide cases are under investigation. Around 433 farmers

Government assistance has been provided in all those cases where the case is eligible for government assistance. Apart from this, government assistance has been provided in all the eligible cases in the districts of Dharashiv, Latur, Hingoli, Parbhani etc. There is a real need to find out the reasons behind farmer suicides and take effective measures against them.

But what is next, whether all the provisions of that report, the measures were beyond the reach of the government, the non-stop question is being raised on the occasion of the farmer suicide session. On the occasion of Marathwada Mukti Sangram Day, the state cabinet meeting is being held in the capital of Marathwada. In this background, everyone's attention has been drawn to whether any concrete decision will be taken from the government level on the measures to prevent farmer suicides, whether the government has prepared any remedial plan.
